We build relationships by involving community and civic organizations, music industry professionals, educational institutions and other related non-profit organizations in our programs.

 

We strive to provide artists and students with financial aid, educational opportunities, professional advice and guidance.

Supporting Arts Education

January 2011

Jennifer Nettles performs a benefit show for Attic Community Playground at the Murchison Performing Arts Center in Denton, TX.  Proceeds from the ticket sales went to support music and performing art programs at Ponder High School in Denton, TX and at The Museum School of Avondale Estates in Georgia.

March 2011

ACP visits Ponder High School in Denton, TX

  •  Ponder High School now provides private voice and instrument lessons for students enrolled in these programs at the school.

 

 

 

ACP visits The Museum School in Avondale Estates, GA

  • The Museum School of Avondale Estates purchased new musical instruments to be used for general instruction. Additionally, funds were used to help provide after school musical programs.

May 2011

ACP teamed up with some music’s hottest stars to help raise awareness for music education for kids. Proceeds from the CharityBuzz online auction were made available to schools and communities through a grant application process.

November 2011

ACP awards grants to the following recipients:

  • Coffee County Alliance for the Arts applied funds to production of their Annual Coffee High School Arts Week
  • The Exeter-West Greenwich Regional Junior-Senior High School Drama Club bought newmaterials for the construction of their theater sets.
  • North Branch High School purchased new costumes for participants in their choir.
  • Lake Drive School for Children for the deaf or hard of hearing were able to invite the Taikoza Japanese Festival Drummers from Young Audiences of New Jersey to come to their school and perform for the children and their families.

 

 

 

January 2012

On January 21, 2012, Attic Community Playground Director, Shawn Mullins, conducted a songwriter workshop for a group in Texas. ACP thanks Atmos Energy for their generous contribution in helping to make it happen.

2013 Grant Application

ATTIC COMMUNITY PLAYGROUND, INC.’S 2013 GRANT PROGRAM

Information about our 2013 Grant Program will be available this summer. Please check back for additional details.

This year’s program provides grants to publicly funded schools to support performing arts projects. Grants are limited to $1,000.00.

    • Applications must be sent and dated September 10 – October 26, 2013.
    • Email your application to atticplay@atticcommunityplayground.org on or before October 26, 2013.
    • Applications may also be mailed to PO Box 511, Avondale Estates, GA 30002
    • All grant winners will be notified on or before November 30, 2013.
